This page is for Welcome Break's former facilities in the UK Terminal only, not the whole terminal itself.
Welcome Break adopted the catering facilities at the Eurotunnel UK Terminal, which is what this page focused on. It's only accessible to customers wishing to use the 35 minute crossing to France.
Welcome Break recently reopened a site for freight traffic called 'Welcome Break Truckers', open from 6am until midnight, seven days a week, for freight drivers travelling from England to France.
The following facilities are still on site at the UK Terminal but are operated by another company:
- Bagel Street
- Burger King
- La Gare
- World Duty Free Shop
- AA Travel Shop
- Travelex Bureau de Change
- Children's Play Area
- 24 hour Esso filling station, operated by Rontec with a Shop 'n Drive and Costa Express
Welcome Break opened up the site in order to see how well they would do away from the motorway. In the early '90s they operated a similar site nearby at Dover Port. But in August 2013, Welcome Break removed the facilities they ran and no longer have a part in the Eurotunnel UK Terminal.
They described buying the facilities as a great success and said they were looking into securing a deal for the French terminal.
The Coffee Primo here was the last surviving on the motorway network, lasting until 2013 when all the others changed to Starbucks in 2010. It is now a Starbucks not run by Welcome Break.
