Roadchef's attempt to rival the popular Stafford (North) services, this one comes complete with its own lake and rural surroundings. However, no matter what you think of it, it is still overshadowed by its friend on the other side of the road.

Trivia

The services were built by Blue Boar but opened by Roadchef, as they were sold whilst the services were under construction. They used to have an SOS Fashion outlet here but it has since closed.

Granada originally proposed a southbound service area opposite the northbound one, but for some reason it didn't go ahead. To really confuse matters, according to Stafford Borough Council the services are called "Granada Service Station Southbound", and the postcode supplied by Roadchef is wrong and actually points to the northbound services. Very odd!

The services are deliberately set back from the road by 67 metres to allow for future widening of the M6.
