Template:Map

This template is used to create the specific service station maps, such as at Map:Strensham, and should be used as follows, and like all templates most of the variables aren't necessary:

{{Map
|overall-lat - if more than one marker is being displayed on the map, you'll need to specify the centre of the map with this
|overall-lon - as above, but for the longitude
|lat1 - the latitude of the services (where the marker should be)
|lon1 - as above, but for the longitude
|dir1 - if the services are direction-specific, put "north"/"south"/"west"/"east" here. Each one is short for northbound and so on, not the services location relative to the road
|lat2 - if there are two sides to the services, but the latitude of the second marker here
|lon2 - as above, but for the longitude
|dir2 - the side of the services this marker applies to
|directions - simple directions from the motorway to the services
}}

The latitude and longitude is widely available from online services. Note that we need the location to be previse, because this data may be used by sat navs. The icon should point to the slip road leading in to the service area, at the last possible point before the user needs to pick which parking area or facility they want (in other words, at any point before a sat nav might pick up another road on its map that it could send you down).

Note that the map guesses what colour icon should be used by looking for the appropriate Template:Services, so the page name should be the same. This creates a bug, where truckstops will be shown in their road colour, rather than their more common black.

This template adds dedicated map pages for each service area.
