Here are details on the services on the A23, starting at Crawley and ending at Brighton. Feel free to contact me with any corrections, photos or opinions.

Pease Pottage
This service area is also accessible to traffic on the M23 and so it is documented on the motorway services section of the site.
Handcross
Southbound only, no HGVs.
Location: Between Crawley and Brighton, West Sussex, RH17 6BL. [Google Maps link

Facilities: BP
Services type: Single site located between junctions on the southbound side only.
Also accessible to traffic on the A2300.
Notes: It looks like the services were originally located at the start of the Handcross Bypass, but the top of this has been re-aligned as the road was extended northwards. As a result, the services have a fairly lengthy sliproad as they are quite a distance from the carriageway.
Hickstead
Location: Between Crawley and Brighton, West Sussex, RH17 5NZ. [Google Maps link]
Facilities: Burger King, Little Chef, Travelodge, Shell
Services type: Single site located at a junction.
Notes: none.
Pyecombe
Northbound only.
Location: Between Croydon and Brighton, West Sussex, BN45 7ED. [Google Maps link]
Facilities: Texaco
Services type: Single site located at a junction on the northbound side only.
Also accessible to traffic on the A281.
Notes: A former Kwik-Fit/BP site on the southbound carriageway about a mile to the south will reopen with an M&S Simply Food store early 2009.
