Costa Coffee

MSO Home - Brands - Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee "Italian about coffee" can be found in most stylish towns and shopping areas, including RoadChef motorway services. They started off in London back in 1971 and have proven very popular since.

It is RoadChef's coffee provider, Moto use Caffe Ritazza and Welcome Break use the own-branded Coffee Primo.

RoadChef have refurbished most of their outlets, and even changed their operating logo to read 'RoadChef Costa Coffee', sneakily allowing them to advertise Costa from the motorway.

Costa Coffee also offer a Costa Card, giving customers the option to pre-pay for their drinks. Coffee Primo are currently trying this idea. They take pride in fair trade, and every year they finance programmes to help the communities providing their stock.

Moto appear to be replacing a lot of their Caffè Ritazza outlets with Costa Coffee. Moto services which have an M&S and a Costa Coffee don't actually refer to Moto on their signs, instead they use the name 'Costa M&S'. It's the same story with RoadChef and McDonalds, creating the company 'McDonalds Costa'.

The quality of you coffee leaves a lot to be desired. You forgot to any arabica bean in with the robusta. Producing a tasteless adourless cup of black water and have the ordacity to charge £2.40.

When we burnt the beans at Lyons they were better tasteing tha yours.

I wont be stopping at Costa Coffe again

I don't have a clue how well rolled out Costa is because their website still says that their new stores will be opening on the 31st March.

The comment about Costa not necessarily replacing Ritazza at all outlets was from me, before I remembered that I had a login here...

Interesting. The roll out of Costa at Moto isn't yet complete, I think, so let's see what happens...

Interesting that you should say that, because there is absolutely no reference to Caffe Ritazza at Cherwell on their website, so I presumed it had gone. I'll have to find out what's going on in their minds, and I can ask about EDC at the same time.

Moto don't seem to be directly replacing Cafe Ritazza with Costa, as the two sit alongside each other comfortably at Cherwell Valley. Costa appear to be moving into former Little Chef units. Cafe Ritazza isn't necessarily being phased out, either, as its space was recently expanded at Tamworth.
