Very disappointed. After long drive stopped at 6pm for some hot food. Absolutely nothing available on menu for non-meat eaters. Were told we could have Tuna panini instead (consider this to be meat so declined). Asked for a pizza and chips, told not available. Opted for tomato soup which was inedible. Not good customer service

We stopped after a very stressful drive nearly running out of petrol and we were very hungry but begrudge paying service station prices for food but thought hey ho we need something to eat so we had a look at the pizzas we were approached by a really friendly guy who could not be more pleasant who cooked us the most delicious large meat feast pizza and large box of chips (which were free)and a beautiful coffee all for under £8 for two hungry adults ( we couldnt finish it all ! ) Really really pleased with the service and I never write on forums etc but we were so immpressed i have had to write on here and i would really like to say a BIG thankyou to the lovely guy that served us he needs a pay rise ! but i cannot remember what the name of the services was - we were on our way back from shrewsbury and I saw a sign that says Birmingham so whatever that services is ! They only had burger king and whsmiths in there ! Many thanks for changing our minds on service station food !!

Had the most fabulous chicken with mushroom pie here. Pastry quite thick but filing amazing. Accompanied by masses of chips, peas and gravy, it was brought to the table by a very friendly waitress who made me feel nothing was too much trouble. This experience has lead me to slightly revise the negative view I have long held on motorway service restaurants. I am planning to return very soon. Thank you!

Visited Membury eastbound at what was supposed to be rush hour - it was still pretty dead, but service was efficient and friendly. As it was peak time the food had been pre-cooked, and while it didn't look particularly appetising, it was at least hot and fairly tasty. In what could be the start of a national trend or a new way to get strange looks in restaurants, here's a picture of my meal: Attachment:

Was it worth the £6.99 I paid for it? No, but the price wasn't too bad. The menu at Eat In is perhaps a little limited, but the staff are usually pretty flexible and it's a matter of quality not quantity. They do have a talent for making the cutlery very hard to find though!

Had very good fish and chips here 2 weeks ago. It was freshly cooked and brought to my table by the waitress. Proof that self-service restaurants don't have to be scary places with poor food. If done well they are still brilliant. Take note EDC!

Friendly staff at Woodall southbound, well-kept restaurant, good takeaway food (didn't sample a full meal) and almost palatable prices, which isn't bad going for a service station!
A 10" take-away pizza and chips are £5. I know it depends on the quality, but this sounds pretty good compared to Domino's and their friends.

Oh dear, nothing changes in the Great British Services. Unsmiling staff (apart from the young East European girl on checkout). No rice with chicken tikka so served small portion of chips instead. Each portion was not the size of a child's, yet still tried to charge full price of £7.00 each. Negotiated down to £3.99 for the 2. Looked like dogsick on a plate, lukewarm too. Someone had had the bright idea of artfully carving an orange to brighten up the display but put it on the hotplate, not a good idea, but ten out of ten for initiative. Depressing.
