As someone who has grown up with Granada, I have always been very loyal to them and, with the rebrand, then loyal to Moto. However, I feel Moto are becoming a bit too pre-occupied with turning their services into copies of airport/ railway station/ shopping centre facilites. This often seems to be at the expense of the traditional self service restaurant, which is often left shoehorned into a small, dark untidy space and often looks very scaled down, clumsy and seems to suffer from under investment whencompared with the high street brands. As a result many Motos seem cramped, dark, poorly laid out and devoid of character. I can applaud them for M&S but it is ionly part of the story.

Welcome Break by contrast seem to understand that a motorway customer is different from a shopper/ flyer and that indeed an MSA needs to be different.
Yes they have KFC, Burger King and WH Smith but this is balanced with their own Home-grown Costa rival and a proper self-service restaurant format that looks good, is well stocked, well laid out, tken seriously by the management and works - just like Granada's Fresh Express used to! In addition they give their services a bit of character, branding each one individually with relevant images and pictures to the area it is in. For me this has Moto beaten!

Changes continue at Welcome Break, and not just the publicized ones. As expected, on calling at Welcome Break Warwick northbound, I found Coffee Primo boarded up, with Starbucks adverts and logos on the hoardings; work to strip out the remaining Coffee Primo fittings could be seen through the windows. Starbucks is of course already at Warwick southbound.

Meanwhile the Coffee Primo brand was being phased out at Eat In, with coffee mugs carefully stacked so the Coffee Primo insignia faced the wall...

...but most surprisingly Eat In's sandwich range was restricted to baguettes, rolls and paninis, with sandwiches proper replaced by Waitrose sandwiches. No more vegetarian triples for me, it seems.

With The Sunday Times reporting this week that Waitrose are negotiating to buy sandwich chain Eat, perhaps they will supplant Welcome Break's very similar house brand?

Welcome Break Gordano allow Parking Eye to 'police' parking at the service area and to levy fines.

Parking Eye issue no receipt for parking charges over two hours and charge a penalty for any overstay that they claim has occured. The penalty is exhorbitant and since no receipt is ever issued cannot be challenged.

That Welcome Break support such a corrupt practice is very much regretted and, if customer relations are valued is a matter that they need to remedy as a matter of urgency.

Coach drivers get vouchers when they call in with passengers which are very good but there is nothing worth buying with them. As a coach driver I would like to say the best services is Hopwood where you are met by Linz or Joy who make you most welcome.

I parked in woodhall services for the first time ever due to me getting some bad news and so i drove to woodhall services and stayed there for quiet a while ,eaten in there facilities and bought things from there amenities and then days later i recieved a fine of 62.50 for parking to long in the same space.
How do i try and contest this as to whom do you get in touch with.
There was no reciept of payment so this makes me think is this payment legal. I paid it as i didn t know what to do. If anyone knows of anyeway i can try and get this money back please leave your comments

Yesterday I visited Hopwood Park Services on the M42 and must say that I was completely confused with the directioning to the car park areas. The white lining / indication signs on the tarmac surface have all but completely disappeared in the main. Although by entering the site just before nightfall it was possible to determine where to go by the surroundings, upon leaving, once dark, in was near impossible. Both myself, and several other vehicles at the time, found themselves driving in the wrong direction and having to double back on car parks due to exit directional signs being totally worn away and unreadable. As it would appear that money has been spent on upgrading the facilities within the services themselves within the past few years, is'nt it about time that some money went on re-lining the car park and entrance / exit roads which is obviously long overdue and clearly represents a safety issue.

Anonymous, I am sorry to say that the proof is on the cameras, these types of cameras police lots of carparks across the country and companies pay allot of money to have them installed, do you think the companyies would really pay to have these cameras installed if the fines were not valid?, I don't think so.
The practice is not corrupt, if it was then the cameras would not exist for much longer and that would be very unlikely.
On a side note, you spelled exorbitant incorrectly.
