Just in case you missed it in the comments & reviews section, last week Bolton West was sold to Euro Garages, a company which specialises in rebuilding unpopular north-western petrol stations. I imagine they'll have a field day with this one!
On the subject of sales, a New Zealand-based investment company has taken an 18% stake in Moto. There's little more to say about that.

yeah i read that comment. He said something about the Motor deal falling through. Do you think that means the Moto deal, with a view to Magor and Symonds Yat? If so i wonder what is to bcome of them?

I read it as Moto, with First retaining the almost credible Magor and Symonds Yat.

I noticed that the Travelodge logo has been rubbed out when I stopped at Bolton West today. Travelodge Bolton West has also been removed from the Travelodge website. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Alan will be glad to know that the takeover effectively means the services are owned by BP and, when complete, will basically be an overblown petrol station. Remind you of anywhere?

Just been on the website for Euro Garages. It turns out they are a local company and seem to have deals with BP/ Shell, Subway and Coffee Nation. I wonder how many of these will appear at Bolton West and when? I have e-mailed the press contact too so will try and find out what is going on and when.

I cant think of Bolton West without also thinking of Peter Kay's tv show there with the 80s DJ stood in the car park playing 'My favourite waste of time.'

Bit of trivia for you, because I've got nowhere else to put it. When First owned Bolton West, its official postal address was: First Motorway Services Rivington Pavilion Anderton Motorway Services Area M61 Horwich Bolton BL6 5UZ
In other words, a bit of everything - including Pavilion! Euro Garages have changed the first two lines to their own name.

Yeah i found that too. i think it was in the Thomson Directory. I seem to remember the address for Hilton Park being quite good as well. There are some Motos that still have the address Granada Motorway services too. I will need to find them again.
