Sadly this is all I can find on it right now:

Consultation on new-look Kinross motorway services

It sounds like they want to completely replace Kinross services and build a more modern, larger site with an M&S. I'm waiting for a proper source as this hasn't made it onto the planning site yet.

Moto have really been pushing M&S lately: Winchester, Blyth and Doncaster are all due to get one, and I reckon they're going to go all the way and add one to all their sites. They also appear to be planning a few more motels, but what brand they're looking at I don't know.

About time! All they need to do now is look at 90% of their other sites too...... they are by far the worse of the top 3 in standards.

site to be rebuilt and some interesting new ideas tried for the first time. Im watching this with interest as it should be a good exercise - possibly the way forward for sites.

Kinross always looks like a slightly cobbled together kind of place that has been gradually added to over the years with the strange restaurant extension and the wrap around corridor to the toilets. It'll be interesting to see what is done to it. Will it become a Simply Food/ fast food/ coffee house site like Welcome Break rolled out at Oxford or will it keep its restaurant.

From previous experience it can be quite popular with coaches.

Cobbling bits of a service area together works until you try to unify it with the rest of your network. I suspect we'll see another Wetherby replica here.

I don't think they'll give it a restaurant, it'll probably be more like what Welcome Break have done with some of their smaller sites.

What are they going to do while they rebuild it?

It's odd that they are going to solve the problem of the services being to small by temporaraly making them smaller!

Whatever they do it's gotta be better than what's there now!

Do you think they could fit the temporary building at Cherwell Valley onto the back of a lorry and just drop it off here?

The planning applications are now online under the references 11/00197/FLM and 11/00186/FLL, but annoyingly the one for the main amenity building isn't working yet.

Interestingly the plans for the petrol station is actually a plan from 2000, recycled.

The first one apparently doesn't exist.
