2nd February

The 2nd February was day 15 of the M27 Widening roadworks, so only superficial changes have been made. Here's what it looked like:

The western end of the roadworks again. Compared to last time, there are two things to notice here: firstly the lane drop has been moved further down the slip road to give traffic stacking space, and secondly a SPECS camera has been put at the top of the slip road - but only after a local newspaper highlighted the mistake!

Looking east, the roadworks have definitely started. A Varioguard barrier has been put down to separate the traffic and the workforce.

Looking down on the traffic, those lanes are narrow!

In just two weeks the entire central reservation has been pulled out, which isn't bad going for british roadworks. The rope in the foreground is to warn loaded works vehicles and cranes before they hit the bridge where I am standing.

In the distance, traffic prepares to exit the roadworks.

Another general view of the works, looking east (towards Portsmouth).

A final shot, the hill doesn't look all that steep from here.
