Bolton West is regularly slated and consists of two large buildings stradelling the M61. It's currently up there as one of the services with the lowest ratings on our system, and throughout its time it has had three different names and four different operators.

Trivia:
Bolton's main claim to fame is that it starred in Peter Kay's pilot episode for his sketch show 'That Peter Kay Thing'. The show was a 22-minute mockumentary titled 'At the Services' which took a look at a typical day at Bolton West, including manager Pearl Harbour's quest to impress a celebrity. It was filmed here because they were the only services to grant him permission, which isn't surprising considering how many stereotypes about services were brought up during the programme.
