Walking to the back of the services takes you to the petrol station, where the shop can be found. The toilets are to the left.

The Cherry Tree Farm Pub-Restaurant

The Cherry Tree Farm Pub-Restaurant was built with the services, can be found next to them and is accessed from the services's exit road. Does that make it part of the services or not?

The new roundabout

To make way for the services, a new roundabout was built on the B5008. Here you can see where the road would have continued ahead but now it bends into the roundabout. That road to the left shows the alignment which the road took before the A38 and A50 were built, where the road headed to the industrial estate which can now be found at the other side of the large interchange.

Extra are developing services here

This sign was put up to let drivers know what was going on here, although it wasn't visible from the road so it was of very little use to most. The now disused Willington Cooling Towers can be seen in the background.

Trivia:

Not to be mixed up with Derby South, these new services opened on the 29th July and and mirror Leicester services which opened four weeks before. The official name of this service area is Derby with Burton, it seems that Extra have learnt from all the trouble at Blackburn with Darwen!
