Welcome Break recently adopted the catering facilities at the Eurotunnel UK Terminal, which is what this page focuses on. It's only accessible to customers wishing to use the 35 minute crossing to France.

They have also recently opened a site for freight traffic called 'Welcome Break Truckers', open from 6am until midnight, seven days a week, for freight drivers travelling from England to France.

The following facilities are on site at the UK Terminal, but they're not part of the Welcome Break area: (correct as of September 2008)

The staff in the cafeteria seem to think service is a word from a foreign language. I asked if I could have a tray to carry the cups and other items back to the table. I was told in a typically surly, Saarf-East manner, 'yuh wa? trays? nah, we ain' go' no trays.' Surely a cafeteria worth its salt would stock trays for customers' use? Another foreign concept to the people who run and own this place. What a contrast when you get to France and Germany. True, you can also get bad service on the Continent, but not this bad!

The building was the product of that strange 90s fascination of building everything white without any thought to the fact that rust and dirt show particularly badly on these structures. As a result it looks weather beaten and twice the age it actually is.

I've had some bad experience here which meant the building just didn't make you feel welcome. It's not what you'd expect from a relativity new site.
