Trivia:
Gretna, in its current form, was opened in the 90s and is accessed off its own junction. Originally it was a little two-site Little Chef on the A74, but when the A74 was upgraded to a motorway it was built on top of the old southbound site and the northbound site was expanded. This layout is now the standard way of doing things as it's more cost effective.
The Little Chef, which was built in the 70s, was originally one of only two to have a lodge.

In 2008 the services won a five star loo award.
In 2006 and again in 2007 Gretna Green won a three star loo award.
In 2006, Holiday Which? magazine rated Gretna at 3/5, they liked the individuality of the products for sale.
