Designed only for traffic on the A50, Markfield is a small service area directly accessible from the M1. The lack of custom means it can get very dirty, and the main facilities are not 24 hours - overnight customers are directed to the petrol station.

Markfield is officially known as Leicester, but we'll refer to it as Markfield to avoid confusion with Extra's Leicester services and Welcome Break's Leicester Forest East, the latter being only six miles away but due to close at some point in the future.
