Trivia:
The services are on a stretch of the A50 where it shares its route with the A6, so the services manage to serve two roads at once.
Shardlow is often referred to by Welcome Break themselves as Derby South, which is quite confusing because just a few miles to the west (and slightly to the south of Derby South) lies Extra's large and new Derby services. The hotel at Shardlow is officially named 'Donington', which is also the name of a Moto service area!
