The land here hasn't been prepared for a service area, however there are four clear 'sliproads to nowhere'. The services would have been only half a mile before J23a.
Whilst these services were proposed there were plans for a new motorway, the M64, which would have met the M1 at a junction built around this service area.
The recent Donington Park services can be found a mile up the road and it replaces the need for this service area.
