Stretton-under-Fosse would have been the last and a fairly large service area on the M6, located exactly half way between Corley and the next one on the M1, Watford Gap (until the 90s all traffic heading east at the end of the M6 was forced onto the M1 south).

Until recently, the two fields where the services should have been were connected by a pedestrian footbridge, except that there were no steps up to it, instead it was just hanging in the air. It has now been removed.

As well as prepared land, this site has four clear 'sliproads to nowhere'. The sliproads used to come with road markings, however these were also removed recently, presumably because drivers were mistaking it for their exit.

Both of the fields connect to Old Montilo Lane, the road which was used before it was disected by the M6 and Montilo Lane moved onto a new alignment. On both sides the road has gated access onto the east-facing 'sliproads to nowhere', although the one on the westbound side doesn't look all that official.

Today, Extra want to build a service area close to this site, although I'm not sure of the exact location.
