Thorntons were chocolatiers and on the motorway they were dying very quickly, thanks to the likes of WHSmith. They were actually one of the only brands which were not been completely removed following the introduction of more popular names. Thorntons didn't last much longer in the new Cherwell Valley, it was removed within a few weeks of opening. They used to be found at many of the busier services.
