Trivia and History
Caenby Corner is an important crossing on the old Ermin Street.
The petrol station at Caenby Corner was built as a garage in the 1950s. In 1986 this was joined by a Little Chef restaurant.
In 2008, the Little Chef restaurant closed. In late 2009, the site was purchased by Café Amore who refurbished the site into a coffee shop.
In late 2015, Café Amore closed. In Spring 2016, local restaurant operator Meat Inc. purchased the building and refurbished the building restoring it to a restaurant opening in September 2016. Meat Inc. later closed on 28 July 2019 and relocated to nearby Nettleham.
In 2020, 23.5 Degrees bought the former restaurant building and converted the building into a Starbucks Drive Thru. The store opened at 6am on Friday 18 December 2020. In March 2021, two InstaVolt electric vehicle charging points went live in the Starbucks car park.
On the opposite corner of the junction was the Moncks Arms Inn, later the Moncks Arms Hotel. A transport café set up in its car park while the hotel itself closed in the 1980s and was only recently refurbished.
