Trivia and History
The forecourt was built in 1975. It acts as a local facility, with an entrance and an exit for local traffic.
There used to be a diner at the back. By the start of the 21st century, both this and the forecourt were derelict.
Quickbreak Services demolished these in early 2005, building a new Total filling station and car wash with a two-storey sales building. This included a Spar store and café on the ground floor and offices on the first floor. The filling station rebranded to Gulf in late 2014.
On Christmas Day 2020, a fire caused severe damage to Budgens and Greggs. The shop has temporarily reopened in a portable cabin while repair works are underway, along with a snack bar positioned at the back of the forecourt to provide catering facilities. The car wash is also currently not in use.
