Trivia and Details
The service area was built in 1989 as a large Little ChefHistory, along with a Travelodge and a Fina petrol station.
It was built to the north of the Marston Moretaine roundabout on the A421, on Bancroft Road, with a restaurant overlooking the road. In 2010 the junction was upgraded, and the service area was accessed from a new junction.
The petrol station went on to become Total.
Restaurant History
A Burger King was added in 1998, but removed in the 2000s. This was replaced by Coffee Tempo! but the Burger King was brought back in 2012.
In 2002, it became the first ever Little Chef Choices site, which saw it gain a Harry Ramsden's and Caffè Ritazza. It reported a 30% uplift in sales, but the choice was soon removed.
In January 2018, new owners Euro Garages lost the rights to the Little Chef name, so they changed it to EG Diner. The building closed on 20 July 2018, but the Burger King reopened alongside a Greggs in October 2018. A Sainsbury’s On the go store was later added in summer 2019.
