Services on the A1 and N1

This is the route between Lisburn and Dublin. You may want the A1 in Great Britain.

Below is a list of all the signposted services on the A1/N1 route.

The following roads meet the A1 and N1, and also have services guides on this website: M1.

Barbican[edit]

Northbound only. Single site located between junctions on the Northbound side only.  Northbound between Banbridge and Lisburn. (Google Maps)
Circle K, Centra, ESB eCars Electric Vehicle Charging Point
Notes: The first signposted service area on the northern side of the border recently opened on the site of an old industrial unit, roughly halfway between Newry and Belfast. Several industrial units are accessed through the services.

Dublin Road[edit]

Single site located at a junction.  Between Newry and Dundalk (both sides of the border). (Google Maps)
Fireworks Factory NINorthern Ireland side: BP, Barney's Service Station, Donnelly's Fuels, Morgan Fuels, McKevitts Service Station
Irish side: Morgan Fuels
Notes: This isn't a single service area as we would recognise it, but a series of facilities located on the original Dublin to Belfast road as it crosses the border. Traffic is able to leave the new A1 north of the border, take the old road past the services, and then re-join the road to the south (or vice-versa).

The facilities available are anything to take advantage of the different currencies and regulations, but this includes a number of forecourts which warrant the exit being signed with "Dublin Road services".

Curiously, due to the position of the border, when travelling northbound traffic briefly spends a few hundred yards in Northern Ireland before re-entering the Republic and then entering Northern Ireland again. For many years this area was politically contentious, and there were fears that could all change again.
