Trivia and History
The service area was built with this part of the A9 in the 1980s.
The picnic area here used to feature a large teapot and teacup in the centre of it promoting the restaurant here but this was later removed.
In 2015, the site received a refurbishment which saw the forecourt shop gain a Costa Express machine as well as Scottish bakers Harry Gow supplying bakery products to the new food to go offering. The refurbishment was marked with an official opening day on 14 June 2015.
In August 2020, the Skiach Services Restaurant closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. The restaurant later reopened on 12 April 2021 as Am Bothan Community Café following the easing of coronavirus restrictions.
