Trivia and History
This service area was a typical restaurant and filling station set-up. A commercial yard is also accessed through the services which is now home to Britalba, who also have truck wash facilities.
The restaurant was formerly home to 'M's Family Diner'. This closed in 2009 and became Carriages Car Wash Café for a year before being put up to let. The restaurant was later purchased by the former owners of the restaurant in 2014 who turned the site into a motor repair garage and van rental yard called 'M's Building Supplies'.
The filling station has been branded BP since at least the 2000s. In 2013, the filling station was acquired by MRH who added their Hursts store to the site. The site was later acquired by MFG in 2018 following the merger of the two companies.
MFG redeveloped the forecourt here in 2021 with the sales building, car wash and jet wash demolished and a new, larger sales building built in its place with official customer parking and 2 new jet wash bays. The site reopened on 7 October 2021 and features a Londis store with integrated Greggs store and a number of grab and go options. MFG also hold planning permission to add 2 new MFG EV Power electric vehicle charging bays here.
