M62, M6 and A74 Old Photos

Labelled "Elland Viaduct under construction", I believe this shows M62 J25.

Looking west towards M62 J25, in the late stages of construction. The viaduct can be seen in the distance. The road has since been widened and the street lights removed.

The M62 shortly after opening. It's not clear what that nearest sign says; the distant confirmatory sign has two road numbers on it.

To the M6 southbound at J12. The road ahead wasn't finished in time, so the sign had to be hastily amended to tell long-distance traffic where to go.

The next sign is even worse. It also looks much older, with the old-style lighting and a very old 'fog' sign. The under-sized place names appear to be covering up a large 'Cannock'.

When the Lymm Interchange at M6 J20 first opened, it was just a roundabout, as pictured here.

The M6 in the Lake District, released in 1978 but probably taken much later. It seems to be looking south from J37. There is no barrier in the central reservation.

Looking south on the A74 at Eaglesfield. Today this is the B7076 near A74(M) J20. The old-style sign has the dangerous old lighting fixtures beneath it.

Roadworks on a dual carriageway with a concrete surface in the early '90s. The location hasn't yet been found, but the A74 at Lockerbie is the most likely location.
