Photo: Customer Seating Area - Welcome Break Sedgemoor Northbound.jpeg

Original file(960 × 1,280 pixels, file size: 258 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Customer seating at Sedgemoor North, located left of the entrance, amongst food outlets. Layout wise, not much has changed since the site first opened in 1987. There’s quite a lot of seating given the small range of food outlets the site has to offer. In 1987, this section of the amenity building was a restaurant called the “Granary”, which was then replaced with Eat In (Food Connection) and eventually split up into several food units with customer seating, as seen today. This section of Sedgemoor North oddly feels like a Little Chef. The entire interior here seems so 80’s. There is an outdoor seating area as well, which is useful when the site gets busier during the summer. Sedgemoor North has never been extended. This could be down to low custom levels but it’s strange how this side hasn’t really changed but Southbound was essentially rebuilt in 2016. However, the difference in operators could partially explain this. The site was quiet during my visit, thus this seating area wasn’t in high demand. Welcome Break make no plans to renovate/extend Sedgemoor North, so this seating area will be looking like this for the foreseeable future.
