Internal Greggs unit at Blackburn with Darwen, situated in the centre of the site next to Costa. This unit is operated by Moto and was first introduced to Blackburn in 2012. This and Costa replaced an LP4 Little Chef restaurant. Greggs doesn’t have any seating of its own, but Extra provide a small amount of customer seating in front of this unit. Typically, Greggs is either accessed externally or located near the entrance, so the location of this Greggs is unusual. This Greggs is also less obvious to customers stopping than an external one, like nearby at Birch East. The menu is different to the high street & prices are inflated. The McDonald’s next door keeps their motorway pricing the same as their high street outlets, meaning it’s cheaper and customers are more likely to go there, however, Greggs is still a fairly low cost brand despite inflation. This unit hasn’t changed since first opening and this photo captures the Quicksilver arcade to the right of Greggs. Greggs was fairly quiet over the course of my visit, as was the site itself. Greggs is signposted from both sides of the M65 and advertised around the site.
