Internal Greggs unit at Rugby, situated to the far left of the food court, opposite the seating, between the gaming arcade/toilets and Burger King. It opened when the site did in 2021 and this unit was initially lined up to be an Arlo’s kitchen & pantry with its own seating area. Moto stopped promoting Arlo’s in 2019, despite it being a recent brand of theirs, and Arlo’s wasn’t to open at Rugby, so instead of Greggs opening next to the entrance where Pret is currently trading from, they opened up here to have a large seating area of their own. This makes Greggs at Rugby the largest of all their motorway outlets. Greggs having their own seating means its customers don’t have to use the seating opposite, leaving that to the food outlets which don’t have their own seating, which helps when the sites busier. Most Moto operated Greggs stores dont allow customers to eat their food in seating areas. Due to the large size, this Greggs feels more like a Costa. Greggs appeared to be fully stocked. Low pricing makes Greggs such an attractive brand at Moto services. Compared to all their other food/shop offerings, Greggs is incredibly cheap and offers customers smaller “snack items”. Obviously it’s not as cheap as a high street branch & inflation does take place, but Greggs is popular for its reasonable pricing and convenience. This unit is fresh and very tidy, I hope the standards don’t slip as the place gets older. Greggs was moderately busy during my visit. Not as manic as KFC, but not empty either, which is a good sign. Greggs is signposted from both directions of the M6, so customers can expect it.
