Subway unit at Sedgemoor North, located in the food court section of the amenity building between the hybrid unit and WHSmith. It’s a large unit which would’ve opened around 2014 & was used to replace Eat In, which itself replaced Food Connection and the Granary restaurant. Subway saw the removal of the restaurant dining format at Sedgemoor North, implementing a very different array of customisable sandwiches. Like all Welcome Break Subways, this unit closed for, basically, the entirety of 2020 due to lockdown. Subway is a good brand for Welcome Break to use as it’s highly recognisable on the high street and it’s unique to their sites as none of the other operators use Subway. Prices are slightly inflated but this is to be expected at a services. Overall, it’s still not bad value. Subway was completely empty during my visit despite it being open, but I visited in the morning and although Subway do a breakfast menu, the good breakfast next door specialise in providing breakfasts, so that offering overshadows subway for the morning trade. Subway is signposted from the M5 Northbound but isn’t advertised much around the site other than being signposted on the Welcome Break totem.
