Again this shows just how high and triangular the building is with full height here given over to the restaurant seating.
This shows just how sharp and sudden the left turn for cars is once you've come off the roundabout at M62 J33. Even while I stood many cars went up the lorry access without realising.
The amenity building viewed from the south as approaching traffic would see it. This gives the impression of just how tall and triangular it is
This shows the BP filling station to the south and east of the amenity building. Originally Esso and has recently changed to BP
This shows the full mall extension looking towards the current entrance from the front
This looks from the foyer of the original services (WH Smith is to the right)back towards the mall extension and entrance. You can see the difference in roof heights and the window that would have been above the original entrance
To the right of the EDC servery and just above Costa and BK is the seating area for EDC. This is looking right towards the large windows which, to match the chalet roof, have a triangular design. The Fresh Express logo is still on the windows too
To the right of the EDC servery and just above Costa and BK is the seating area for EDC. This is where full use is made of the height of the Chalet-style amenity building which makes it really bright and airy.
To the right of the foyer, just before the EDC servery entrance are the BK and Costa areas. Originally part of this would have been additional restaurant seating space but most of it was probably an extension. The Costa was once a Little Chef and one of the last ones left in a Moto Service area before it finally bowed out in 2008.
Just beyond the mall extension and into the original services and to the right of the foyer is the EDC. Originally a large Granada Country Kitchen it has now shrunk.
Looking from the front entrance into the shopping mall extension, built by Granada in the 1990s. This once housed Thorntons, Tandy, Ladbrokes, Clinton cards and several other brands. Today it has M&S Simply Food (left), amusements (right) and the rest is boarded up. The original front of the services is visible where the roof changes
