Burger King takeaway at Birch West, situated on the main walkway, next to WHSmith. This opened in 2004 when the amenity building was rebuilt but it’s likely Burger King would’ve first opened in the previous building between 1996–97. It’s a small unit without any seating (it shares a communal seating area with Costa). BK forms part of the limited hot food selection at Birch Westbound. This unit was redecorated in 2019 in line with many other Moto BK’s. BK is Moto’s oldest food brand and is highly associated with their name, meaning most customers stopping here would expect to find this Burger King. Despite this, it’s both signposted from the M62 West and advertised from the exterior of the amenity building. BK was moderately busy despite the time of day being lunchtime. If Moto decide to add a KFC restaurant here, this would take many of BK’s customers. This has already occurred at other Moto sites.
