The indoor food brands at Eastbound (BK and Costa at the time of photographing) each have their own seating areas, meaning there isn’t a communal seating area all the brands share. Before 2017 when Birch East still had an EDC, there was a large communal seating area which other brands shared with EDC but since M&S replaced this seating, Costa took the rest of the space & BK made space of its own. There are large windows next to the seats looking out to an external seating area. It’s likely that Birch East struggles seating customers during busy time periods. This seating was clean & tidy during my visit as it was the morning and the seating was quiet given the low custom levels during when I visited Birch. The interior of Birch Eastbound still has that “Taverna” atmosphere and is much more interesting to visit than the Westbound equivalent as it obtains more character (however most motorists prefer Westbound as it’s brighter, larger and airier than here).
