Photo: Greggs - Moto Birch Westbound.jpeg

Original file(960 × 1,280 pixels, file size: 354 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Greggs outlet at Birch West, situated towards the back, next to Costa/near the toilets. This unit replaced an “EDC”, Moto’s own-brand restaurant servery, in 2019 as a result of their removal in favour for high street brands, such as Greggs. This is a rare example of an internal Greggs. Greggs obtains none of its own customer seating, and tax reasons mean the communal seating here is intended for BK and Costa only, but customers from Greggs still use it. Birch West was one of the last Moto’s to gain a Greggs, while, ironically Eastbound was the second Moto site to receive one. Greggs wasn’t very busy during my visit despite the time of day being lunchtime. Above the store, you can witness the modern, unique, exposed-style roof Birch West has throughout its amenity building. It’s a small unit but it only replaced the EDC servery, which wasn’t very large anyway. Greggs is signposted from the M62 & is advertised from outside the amenity building.
