WHSmith convenience store at Sandbach Northbound, situated right of the entrance, next to the toilets and games arcade. It hasn’t yet been refurbished like Southbound’s store & would’ve first opened around 2009. WHSmith is a very basic facility, most customers forget about, but it’s a very important one, especially during the night/early morning when nothing else is open. It replaced “ReStore”, Road chefs own-brand convenience store, which replaced “Roadshop”. WHSmith was introduced to the motorways as operators wanted their sites obtain recognisable, high street brands instead of own-brands. WHSmith is home to a Costa Express machine, Krispy Kreme cabinet & Skwishee Iced drinks. WHSmith is the only shop at Sandbach, and largely sells books and travel snacks/essentials. It was fairly busy during my visit. WHSmith is signposted from the M6 North.
