Four Went Ways
Trivia and History
For some reason, this service area has always been given undue prominence by some road atlases.
This site opened in 1965 as one of the first Little Chef restaurants, at the Fourwentways crossroads, next to an existing forecourt. This was known as the Cambridge branch. Miraculously, it managed to survive the A11 being upgraded to a dual carriageway and is now tucked away on an old section of road.
The Travelodge was added by Forte and the Burger King by Granada.
In 2002, a refurbishment saw it become one of the Little Chef Choices, whereby Harry Ramsden's and Caffe Ritazza were added. These were later removed, and the Burger King closed too. In 2013 the Burger King reopened.
Shell operate the filling station.
