Ibis Budget, part of the Accor chain of hotels, weren't at any service stations until October 2008, where they were opened at Extra service stations under their previous name, Etap. Another one was in the original plans for Cobham but was ruled out in favour of Welcome Break's Days Inn. They also purchased the lease for the former Travelodge at Lymm.
Etap was rebranded as Ibis Budget throughout 2012.
