Here are details on the services on the A38, starting at Derby and ending at Plymouth. Please note that this does not cover the section between Birmingham and Exeter as this is superseded by the M5. Also on Motorway Services Online: Services on the M1, M5, M6, M6 Toll, A30 and the A50.

Services type: Single site located at a junction.
Notes: Planned in 1989 as Swanwick services. It eventually opened as a Granada Hotel, which became a Little Chef/Travelodge in around 1993.
Derby with Burton

Notes: The services are only a mile south of Shell's newest site at A38#Derby with Burton.
Burton South

Services type: Two sites staggered, with a junction between the two.
Notes: The southbound services look a little worse for wear. The northbound ones seem to be squished between the road and the Great Trunk Canal.

Notes: The northbound side includes an abandoned restaurant and directly opposite it is an abandoned petrol station. A pub-restaurant sits on the southbound side after the services.

Notes: The services were built by Granada in the 1980s. Moto still own the petrol station and motel and lease them out to BP and Travelodge respectively.
