Methley services was a reserve site identified on the M62, close to J30. It had a very small site reserved for the service area, with four clear ghost slips. The main services was going to be at Hensall, and as no operator was interested in that site, Methley had no chance. Services were later built nearby at Ferrybridge.
One plan had it as a single-sided services. Perhaps it would have operated in tandem with Hartshead Moor?
The site was at risk from mining subsidence.
