Planning permission sold by Blue Boar 1998
Opened by Roadchef 1999

There used to be an SOS Fashion store here but that has since closed.

The filling station is operated by Euro Garages.

The Restbite restaurant is also used to serve Chozen Noodle products.

In Spring 2017, Transport Focus calculated a 70% satisfaction score for the services, making it the second-worst in the country.

Planning[edit]

The services were designed by Blue Boar but built by Roadchef, as the company were sold whilst the services were under construction. In planning it was known as North Pirehill Farm.

Granada originally proposed a southbound service area opposite the northbound one (Wolton Heath Farm), but for some reason it didn't go ahead. To really confuse matters, according to Stafford Borough Council the services are called "Granada Service Station Southbound", and the postcode supplied by Roadchef is wrong and actually points to the northbound services. Very odd!

The services are deliberately set back from the road by 67 metres to allow for future widening of the M6.
