Willand services was a plan to build a service station next to the M5. When the M5 was extended to Exeter, a search of the Willand area was requested in order to find a reserve site suitable for camping and picnic facilities, like Exeter.
This search identified two: Velhay and Willand. The latter was described as a "fairly level site of grass land in a slight saucer shaped depression"
The proposals were withdrawn in 1999 and Cullompton was built privately instead, although it is only signed northbound.
The site is now occupied by Diggerland.
