Beaconsfield was recently granted planning permission to much controversy. Although nothing has yet been confirmed, there have been hints that the services will be one of our largest and greenest. It may well include a 'park and ride' unit to please local residents.

One of the biggest fears is that traffic exiting the services will need to cross the busy A335, and the last thing M40 drivers want is a spitting image of Cherwell Valley. The services will be built on a large stretch of woodland and are due to open in September 2008.

Construction will start soon, it's scheduled to open in Spring 2009.

Welcome to the site!

The services are starting to look very nice, if the model's still there when I'm in the area I think I'll take a look.

More details on this service area can be found in this news report from the Buckinghamshire Advertiser:

The developer are a sister company to Extra, so I expect that they will, as expected, be the operator.
